Most families find that meaningful, lasting improvements in sleep require several days of consistency. For this reason, Raquel works with families over 4–5 nights of in-home overnight support, allowing changes to be established, repeated, and integrated before parents take over.

This is a comprehensive sleep coaching program, including preparation, in-home support, and follow-up guidance.

How to Decide Between 4 or 5 Nights

The 4-night program is a complete sleep integration program, where settling is assessed and adjusted in real time based on your baby’s responses, age, temperament, and current sleep associations.

The 5-night program allows for additional in-home support, more repetition, and further consolidation before parents take over.

Families who choose 5 nights are typically wanting more time for changes to fully embed before Raquel leaves.

What to Expect

Night 1
Once your bedtime rituals are complete, Raquel takes over settling. She stays with your baby until they relax and fall asleep in the cot, learning what helps them settle enough to let sleep come. Parents observe on the monitor, then rest overnight.

Night 2
With primary sleep associations removed, many babies begin to realise that sleep can happen without feeding, sucking, being held, or movement. Settling is usually quicker, though temperament matters.

Night 3
Parents begin settling with Raquel’s real-time guidance. Most babies settle within 30 minutes by this point, often sooner — but again, temperament matters.

Night 4
Sleep patterns usually begin consolidating more reliably overnight. The focus shifts toward consistency, confidence, and refining any remaining settling or resettling challenges. Two days of nap coaching are also integrated across the stay so daytime sleep supports overnight progress.

Night 5 (Full Integration Stay)
Five nights is recommended for older babies, babies with more established sleep associations or stronger protest patterns, and for families who are deeply exhausted and need a more complete reset themselves — what many parents describe as a “sleep holiday.”

Additional Daytime Support Included in the 5-Night Stay
The 5-night package also includes a third day of nap coaching and daytime support, allowing more time to refine daytime rhythms, troubleshoot nap challenges, and strengthen the overall carryover between day sleep and overnight sleep.

Please note: Due to the stronger protest patterns and more established sleep associations often seen in older babies, Raquel may not agree to taking on bookings for babies 9 months or older unless the family is booking the full 5-night stay.

★★★★★
“Raquel is a magic angel — like Mary Poppins. In 5 nights she helped our baby off the dummy, self-settling by night 3, sleeping through by night 4, and settling for longer day naps too.”

We Need to Talk about Newborn Sleep Support

“People will tell you to just do whatever works to get you through the newborn stage before you can help your baby to sleep through the night.”
I’m here to tell you that’s not only bad advice — I have 20 years of maternity support experience proving that’s simply not true.
You can set yourself up for a baby that sleeps through by and beyond the end of the newborn stage — without the need for intensive, corrective or reactive sleep training strategies.

Newborn Overnight Respite Support (Newborn – 3 Months)

Restorative overnight support for newborn families, where Raquel cares for your baby while you sleep, supporting feeding and settling throughout the night.

This is short-term support designed for the early weeks. Overnight support focuses on feeding, settling, and establishing calm, supported sleep — while gently shaping the foundations for healthy sleep patterns, without formal sleep training.

It does not include a structured sleep coaching program, preparation, or follow-up support.

As your baby grows and sleep patterns begin to develop, families seeking lasting improvements are encouraged to explore Raquel’s core 4–5 night overnight support program.

“During these first months, sleep isn’t a luxury — it’s the foundation of your recovery.

I’m not here to just provide ‘overnight care’; I’m here to take the lead on the nights and shape your baby’s habits so you can wake up as yourself again.

Newborn to Sleeping Through Coaching & Respite Program

Raquel’s Newborn to Sleeping Through Program is for families who want that night-nanny level of support in the early weeks, without relying on it long term. She comes in at the start to stabilise sleep and recovery, then guides families week by week so their baby naturally works toward sleeping through by around 12–20 weeks.

How does sleep training work for newborns and younger babies?

Sleep training in the early months is not about applying a set method.

At this stage, the focus is on how your baby’s sleep is developing across the full day and night. Raquel works with your baby overnight, while also guiding you in how everything connects — from feeding and settling, to daytime rhythm, pacing, and interaction.

It’s this ongoing support — staying on top of each stage of your baby’s development, with continuous check-ins alongside her in-home visits — that allows sleep to be shaped clearly from the beginning, rather than needing to be corrected later.

As babies get older, the work naturally shifts toward helping them take a more active role in settling and resettling, with consistent overnight support carried out in your home.

How the Newborn Program Works

This program is designed around the natural developmental stages of newborn sleep.

Stage One: Foundations &  Recovery

The program begins with five nights of overnight support, where Raquel observes your baby’s rhythms, supports overnight settling, and supports the early development of healthy sleep patterns. Parents are able to recover from exhaustion while learning how their baby sleeps best.

During this time Raquel helps establish:

• a healthy day/night rhythm
• appropriate awake windows
• early settling patterns
• a calm and predictable bedtime routine

Guidance is also provided through Raquel’s RIE-informed lens of respectful caregiving, helping parents better understand their baby’s cues and temperament.

Coaching also includes support around:

• feeding rhythms
• daytime pacing
• caring moments such as dressing, bathing and settling

Play is also considered an integral part of healthy development and sleep. Parents are guided in creating calm, developmentally appropriate play opportunities that support regulation, engagement and a healthy build-up of tiredness across the day.

Stage Two: Sleep Consolidation

At the end of the program Raquel returns for five further nights of overnight support to consolidate the progress made during the coaching period.

By this stage, many babies are developmentally ready for longer overnight sleep stretches. The focus shifts to:

• strengthening bedtime patterns
• reducing unnecessary night waking
• helping babies settle and resettle with confidence
• guiding your baby toward sleeping through the night where developmentally appropriate.

Understanding Raquel Tara’s Baby Sleep Support Services

Why is an overnight in-home baby sleep service more expensive than other baby sleep services?

Most sleep support options involve advice, written plans, or short in-home visits, with parents left to carry out the process themselves.

This service is designed to be carried out for you, in your home, over multiple consecutive nights.

Each stay involves travel, extended overnight support, and follow-up, with Raquel working directly with your baby and taking the lead throughout the process.

This is not a short consult or a plan to implement on your own, but a complete in-home service where the work is carried out with you, so you are not left managing it yourself.

Why are the stays multiple nights?

Most families find that meaningful, lasting improvements in sleep require several days of consistency.

Raquel works with families over 4–5 consecutive nights so changes can be established, repeated, adjusted in real time, and fully integrated before parents take over independently.

This also allows daytime sleep, feeding rhythm, settling patterns, and overnight sleep to begin working together as a connected system — rather than simply improving one isolated part of the day.

Families often describe the experience as not just sleep support for their baby, but a reset for the entire household.

Is this a night nanny or sleep consultant service?

It is a combination of both — which is one of the reasons the service is so different from traditional sleep consulting.

A night nanny typically provides overnight care and parental respite during the night.

A sleep consultant typically provides advice, plans, or limited support, with parents implementing the process themselves.

Raquel’s service combines overnight in-home support with hands-on sleep coaching carried out directly with your baby over consecutive nights.

Parents are able to sleep while the settling, overnight support, and sleep coaching are managed in real time.

The goal is not simply to “get through the night,” but to create meaningful, lasting improvements in sleep patterns and family functioning.

What kind of families book Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep service?

Raquel Tara has worked in this space for almost 30 years, and while she has supported elite athletes, celebrities, executives, and other high-profile families throughout her career, the families who book her service come from a wide range of backgrounds and lifestyles.

Many are simply exhausted parents who see the value in outsourcing experienced, hands-on support during an intense stage of life.

Raquel regularly works with healthcare professionals, creatives, tradies, business owners, shift workers, teachers, coaches, and everyday families across Australia who are trying to function on very little sleep while managing work, recovery from birth, older children, mental load, and the ongoing demands of family life.

Most families are not looking for “luxury” — they are looking for practical, experienced help from someone who has spent decades working directly with babies and parents in real homes, overnight.

Families are often referred through paediatricians, maternal health professionals, previous clients, word of mouth, and parent networks.

Is Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service just a luxury service for wealthy families?

Not necessarily.

Many families who book Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service are simply exhausted parents who have reached the point where functioning day to day has become difficult.

A healthcare professional cannot function well without sleep. Neither can a builder, business owner, teacher, shift worker, creative, tradesperson, or parent trying to hold a household together while surviving on fragmented sleep.

For families already under significant pressure, restoring sleep can have a major impact on wellbeing, mental clarity, work capacity, emotional regulation, physical recovery, relationships, and overall family functioning.

The key difference with Raquel Tara’s overnight service is that parents are not left to carry out the difficult overnight work themselves while severely sleep deprived. From the moment Raquel arrives, the overnight settling, support, and sleep coaching are carried out directly with the baby in the home, allowing parents to begin recovering almost immediately.

Many families ultimately view the support not as a luxury, but as something genuinely necessary during an extremely difficult period.

Why do health-conscious families seek overnight baby sleep support?

Many families seeking overnight support are already highly aware of the connection between sleep, physical health, emotional wellbeing, stress, recovery, mental clarity, and overall functioning.

By the time many families contact Raquel, they are no longer coping well physically or emotionally with prolonged sleep deprivation.

Parents commonly describe:
• difficulty functioning at work
• increased anxiety and overwhelm
• inability to recover or exercise properly
• strain on relationships
• burnout and emotional exhaustion
• difficulty being fully present with their baby or older children

Many families seek support not because they want “luxury”, but because sleep deprivation has started significantly affecting quality of life.

Why do some families view Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service as a worthwhile investment rather than an expensive luxury purchase?

Many families compare Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service not against online sleep courses or virtual consultations, but against the real impact prolonged sleep deprivation is having on their health, wellbeing, work capacity, relationships, and overall quality of life.

Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service combines:
• overnight parental respite
• in-home overnight sleep coaching
• daytime nap guidance
• follow-up support
• hands-on implementation carried out directly with the baby

Families are often receiving both overnight support and professional sleep coaching simultaneously.

The key difference is that exhausted parents are able to begin recovering immediately while the overnight work itself is being carried out directly by Raquel.

Many parents describe the improvements in sleep, functioning, confidence, wellbeing, emotional regulation, and family life as far outweighing the financial cost of the stay.

For many families, the value is not simply in more sleep during the booking itself, but in the long-term changes established afterwards.

Why do some corporations arrange Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service for staff?

Some corporations and business owners privately arrange Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service for employees or senior staff returning to work after having a baby.

This is particularly common in high-performance industries where prolonged sleep deprivation caused by disrupted infant sleep can significantly affect cognitive performance, emotional regulation, recovery, decision-making, and overall functioning.

Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service allows exhausted parents to begin recovering immediately while the overnight settling, sleep coaching, and support are carried out directly with the baby in the home.

In these situations, the service is often viewed less as a luxury and more as practical family wellbeing support during one of the most physically and emotionally demanding stages of life.

Why is there a wait for Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service?

As Raquel Tara can only work with a limited number of families each month, bookings are typically scheduled in advance.

Each overnight baby sleep support stay involves travel, multiple nights of in-home overnight support, daytime coaching, and follow-up support, so availability is planned carefully ahead.

Typical wait time is around 21 days, though this can vary depending on location and travel schedules.

In some cases, families need to change dates due to illness, which can occasionally create short-notice openings. Families based in Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers region are also sometimes able to access shorter newborn overnight respite bookings in between larger interstate stays.

There is no additional fee for earlier openings or priority opportunities if they become available.

What happens if sleep training stops working after the stay?

Sleep is not linear — just like growth and development.

Illness, travel, developmental milestones, teething, routine changes, and periods of disruption can temporarily affect sleep, even after strong foundations have been established.

That said, Raquel Tara is regularly contacted by previous clients for baby number two, three, and four — not because the sleep support “stopped working,” but because the results were so positive and long lasting that families want the same support again with their next baby.

Raquel Tara’s overnight baby sleep support service is designed to be holistic, thorough, and grounded in real-life family dynamics rather than quick fixes or rigid sleep formulas.

Clients receive extensive post-support materials, along with access to follow-up consultations at an hourly fee (available to previous clients only) to help guide adjustments as needed over time.

Many families find that future sleep challenges arise not because the foundations disappeared, but because sleep naturally evolves across different stages of infancy and toddlerhood, requiring thoughtful adjustments as a child develops.

Ongoing support helps families remain confident, consistent, and responsive as their baby grows and changes.
