Are there in-home baby sleep training services in Australia?
Yes. Raquel Tara provides in-home overnight baby sleep training across Australia, working directly with families in their homes over 4–5 nights, rather than providing remote plans or consultations.
I’m not here to offer advice; I’m here to begin restoring that foundation in four nights.”

Where is Raquel Tara’s Overnight Sleep Training Service Available?
Raquel Tara provides premium in-home overnight baby sleep training across Australia, with regular support in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Melbourne and regional areas. FIFO overnight support is available for families outside these locations.
We thought we had tried everything. I even told Raquel I didn’t like our chances — but she reassured me that if we trusted her and the process, she could turn things around. And she did. Our family feels brand new.
You have a very special gift, Raquel, and we feel so lucky that you share it.”

Can someone come to my home to sleep train my baby?
Yes. Raquel Tara provides in-home overnight baby sleep training, working directly with families in their homes over 4–5 nights, with support delivered locally based on your location.

Why is Raquel’s service different from other in-home visits?
Most in-home visits involve advice and support, with parents left to carry it out themselves. They are not able to tailor sleep training solutions for your baby in real time. As an in-home overnight baby sleep consultant, Raquel can.
Raquel is in your home at 2am when your baby wakes, guiding them to learn how to sleep through.
She provides overnight baby sleep training and works directly with your baby, implementing the approach in real time — so you are not left trying to manage it on your own.
This is a done for you approach, where the process is carried out clearly and consistently while you step back and rest.
As part of her FIFO service, Raquel works in your home over multiple nights, allowing changes to be properly established before you take over.
Support also extends beyond sleep, with guidance on play and how everything in your baby’s day works together.
This allows the work to be carried out clearly and consistently in your home — which is why it holds once the stay is complete.

Baby Sleep Support FAQ
Why is my baby waking frequently at night?
Frequent night waking is usually linked to how your baby is being settled to sleep. If your baby relies on feeding, rocking, or being held, they will need that same support each time they wake overnight. This is exactly what I resolve during my overnight stays. I work with your baby throughout the night, teaching them how to resettle and sleep longer stretches — while you sleep.
Why will my baby only settle with me and not anyone else?
If your baby only settles with you, it usually means they haven’t yet learned to feel safe and calm with other caregivers or independently. During my overnight support, I gently guide your baby through this transition in real time. By being there consistently overnight, I help your baby learn to settle without relying solely on you — so you’re no longer the only one who can do it.
Why does my baby cry at bedtime every night?
Bedtime resistance often comes from overtiredness, inconsistent routines, or needing help to transition into sleep. I handle this directly in your home, at bedtime and overnight. Instead of you trying to figure it out, I implement a clear, consistent approach with your baby — so bedtime becomes predictable and significantly less stressful.
Why is my baby refusing naps?
Nap refusal is common when sleep pressure, timing, or settling methods aren’t quite aligned. This is why my support includes daytime nap coaching. I don’t just fix nights — I guide naps in real time, so your baby’s whole sleep rhythm starts working together.
How do I stop feeding my baby to sleep?
Feeding to sleep is one of the most common sleep associations. It works — until it doesn’t, especially overnight. I transition your baby away from feeding to sleep during my stay, in a calm and structured way. Because I’m there overnight, I can support your baby through the wakings and help them learn to settle without needing to feed each time.
Is my baby getting enough sleep for their age?
Many parents worry their baby isn’t getting enough sleep, especially when nights are broken or naps are inconsistent. Part of my role is assessing your baby’s full sleep picture — not just overnight, but across the entire day — and adjusting it in real time so your baby is getting the sleep they need.
Can you hire someone to help your baby sleep through the night?
Yes — this is exactly what I do. I come into your home and handle the sleep training overnight, working directly with your baby while you sleep. You’re not left trying to implement a plan yourself — I do the work, and show you how it’s done so it continues once I leave.
Is there a sleep consultant who comes to your house at night?
Yes. I provide in-home overnight baby sleep coaching, staying in your home and working with your baby throughout the night. This allows the process to be done properly and consistently, rather than leaving you to manage it on your own.
Can overnight sleep training be done for you?
Yes — and this is where my approach is different. Most sleep training expects parents to do the work. I do it with your baby overnight in your home, so it is handled clearly and consistently from the start.

About Raquel Tara – Baby Sleep Consultant and Mothercraft Night Nurse
Responsive & Respectful Baby Sleep Support
Extensive Experience Matters
I created my 1:1 Baby Sleep Support Programs after more than 20 years of working closely with new parents and their babies. Over the years, I’ve supported doctors, teachers, elite athletes, celebrities, coaches and families from all walks of life, both in Australia and abroad. I can help you too.
I began working with babies in London as a Mothercraft Maternity Nanny and Night Nurse, before later becoming a Baby Sleep Consultant specialising in newborn sleep, infant sleep, overnight sleep training and in-home baby sleep support. I developed my skills as a Baby Sleep Consultant in Sydney and Melbourne, providing overnight in-home support exclusively, before expanding into online support while based in Bali in 2016.
Today, I work with families throughout Australia as an Overnight Baby Sleep Consultant, providing in-home sleep training, newborn sleep support and intensive 1:1 baby sleep support programs. Families commonly engage me when their baby is waking frequently overnight, struggling with naps, relying on sleep associations, or when parents simply need experienced hands-on support.
I’m not only a Baby Sleep Consultant — I’m also a passionate advocate for babies, parents and respectful early caregiving. Through my intensive 1:1 support programs, I help families not only achieve the sleep they need, but understand how they got there and how to maintain it long after our work together has finished.
I support parents through one of the most significant transitions of their lives. This includes newborn programs where families can work proactively towards healthy sleep foundations and, where appropriate, a baby sleeping through the night by the end of the newborn stage.
My experience has taught me that every family interprets their baby’s communication through the lens of their own experiences, beliefs and upbringing. How a baby’s needs are understood and responded to is deeply personal.
It has also taught me that the desire to nurture, guide and protect a child is one of the most powerful expressions of our human nature. The wisdom required to become a parent already exists within us; sometimes it simply needs support, confidence and understanding to emerge.
Because the first years of life provide crucial experiences that influence future development, I believe there is enormous value in understanding how to provide calm, confident and certain leadership from the very beginning.
Alongside my practical work with families, I spent many years studying early parenting psychology, attachment theory, infant development, infant sleep science and parent-child relationships. As a Baby Sleep Consultant, I came to believe that one of the most overlooked aspects of solving baby sleep difficulties is the tapestry of the parent’s own childhood experiences.
A baby’s cry — what it means, and how it is understood and received — is shaped not only by human evolution, but also by the experiences, beliefs and emotional history of the caregiver. Every family’s experience of their baby’s communication is therefore unique.
As part of my work, I help parents understand this, not as something separate from sleep, but as an integral part of helping their baby develop the confidence and security required for healthy sleep habits.
The transition into early parenthood is challenging enough. The mental health benefits of getting the sleep a young family needs cannot be overstated. The newborn stage does not have to be something you simply survive.
With support, guidance and education, parents can learn how to help their baby relax, sleep and develop healthy habits from the very beginning, creating the possibility of consolidated overnight sleep by the end of the newborn stage.
I created these programs because I believe in the beauty and power of a proactive approach to baby sleep. For more than two decades, I have worked overnight with families, often leaving them with babies sleeping through the night by 12–16 weeks of age. Those experiences shaped the philosophy and support programs I offer today.

Baby Sleep Consultant Advice: Raquel Tara’s Sleepy Time Essentials
4 tips to create a holistic baby sleep routine
Include these 4 elements in your sleep routine to help your baby sleep deeply and confidently, whether at night or during the day.
Sleeping Sack
Remember to use it for daytime naps too. Sleep sacks become holistic sleep cues. Just the action of changing into her sleep sack signals sleep to your baby.
Baby Board Book
The same book forever at every bedtime. My two favourite sleep cue books are Sweet Dreams, Peter! and Goodnight Moon.
100% Cotton Comforter
Ensure it is made of 100% cotton quality breathable fabric. Be careful as most have polyester in them – make sure you check the materials.
An Authentic Lullaby
And that anyone can sing. A calm lullaby that talks of sleep. I teach a very special lullaby to all of my clients called the ‘Sleepy Time Song’ . You can learn it too.
