Baby Sleep Support in Australia — What Actually Works When Your Baby Won’t Sleep

If your baby isn’t sleeping, you usually don’t need more conflicting advice.

You need the right kind of support.

A new baby brings a level of exhaustion most parents are not prepared for.

By the time families begin searching for help, they are often overwhelmed, severely sleep deprived, emotionally exhausted, and unsure who to trust anymore.

For babies under 12 months, sleep can often improve far more quickly than most parents realise — when the right support is in place.

What Most “Baby Sleep Support” Actually Looks Like

Most baby sleep support available online is still primarily advice-based.

Parents are given routines, strategies, wake windows or settling suggestions — and then expected to implement everything themselves while already exhausted.

This often leads to:

• inconsistency
• second guessing
• mixed results
• emotional overwhelm
• or no real lasting change at all

Even well-intentioned parenting groups and online communities can quickly become confusing, with too many opinions and no clear direction.

The RIE Influence on My Work

My work is strongly influenced by the principles of Magda Gerber and the Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) approach to infant care.

RIE focuses on:

• respecting babies as individuals
• understanding communication cues
• responding thoughtfully rather than reactively
• creating calmer, more predictable caregiving

It encourages parents to step away from constant stimulation, conflicting advice and panic-based parenting — and instead develop a more grounded understanding of their baby.

But philosophy alone does not resolve sleep.

Implementation does.

Why Free Sleep Advice Often Doesn’t Work

Over the years, I’ve supported thousands of families through consultations, online spaces and overnight work in homes across Australia.

Advice can feel reassuring in the moment.

But at 2am:

• you’re exhausted
• your baby is crying
• emotions are high
• and you are still left trying to figure out what to do

This is where most approaches begin falling apart.

Not because parents are incapable.

But because implementing sleep changes consistently while severely sleep deprived is incredibly difficult.

What Actually Works

Real baby sleep support is usually not about finding more information.

It is about having someone experienced physically come into your home and carry out the process properly.

This is where my work is different.

I provide in-home overnight baby sleep support, where the work is done for you while you sleep.

I work directly with your baby overnight.

I implement a calm and consistent approach in real time.

I support feeds, settling, resettling, overnight transitions and sleep progression throughout the night.

And parents are finally able to step back and properly rest themselves.

This allows healthier sleep patterns to become established in your baby’s own environment — which is often why the changes hold once I leave.

FIFO Overnight Baby Sleep Support — Australia Wide

I work with families across Australia through a FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) and DIDO (Drive-In Drive-Out) model.

Rather than attending a residential sleep school or trying to implement changes alone, families receive overnight support directly in their own home environment.

If I can physically get to your home, I can usually help.

I regularly work with families throughout:

• Sydney
• Canberra
• Brisbane
• Gold Coast
• Melbourne
• Byron Bay & Northern Rivers
• Regional NSW and ACT

If You’re Looking For Real Support

Most families who contact me have already tried multiple approaches.

They are no longer looking for more theories, generic routines or online tips.

They want someone experienced to come in and sort the sleep properly.

And they want to know that when the stay is complete:

• their baby is sleeping better
• the overnight chaos has reduced
• and they understand exactly what to do moving forward

For babies under 12 months, this is often absolutely achievable.
